Just relaxing after supervising the fawn feeding
On Wednesday, June 16th, Little Bit (the official greeter) passed away. She is by far one of the most asked for animals at the deer ranch. It seemed funny that customers would come to the deer ranch to see a dog. But she touched the hearts of many
Customers would come into the shop and head straight to the register to ask for Bit. Usually she was back resting on the couch but would come out to see everyone. Bit loved to come to the desk and greet customers by sitting by the cash register and waiting to have her head scratched. As time went on, Bit got slower and didn’t spend as much time outside at treat time. She always made an appearance while the fawns were being fed to make sure that we did it correctly
Then she would head back to her spot on the couch.
This spring, Bit was diagnosed with cancer. It was with great sadness that we said goodbye to our 13 year old friend while she went quietly in her sleep. Bit has now joined her many deer friends in heaven to wait for us all to join her. I’m sure she is having a good time playing with the deer that she has always loved.
